We have been very fortunate to have NBA Finals Officials, Legends and Rookies as guest speakers each year; this year will be no different. Last year we featured Joey Crawford, Diana DePaul and Kristyne Esparza as our guest speakers.
This year we welcome Diana DePaul back as one of guest speakers. Diana is a highly experienced Basketball Referee for 25 years including Women’s DI, FIBA and NBA-D League (now the G League). Her quick decision making and quality in communication was critical in her career advancements.
"As a NBA Referee Scout, my focus is finding Officials with a passion and hard work mentality with a strong desire in potentially becoming a candidate for our NBA Referee Try Out process."
We also welcome back Joey Crawford.
Joey Crawford, a prominent NBA referee from 1977 to 2016, hailed from a family deeply rooted in officiating, with his father umpiring in MLB and brother also joining the NBA ranks. Beginning his basketball officiating journey in 1970 at the high school level, he ascended to the NBA in 1977 after a stint in the Continental Basketball Association. Known for his strict and reliable officiating, Crawford achieved the 2,000 game milestone in 2005, solidifying his status as one of the longest-tenured NBA referees in history.
We will update via website as well as email as new guest speakers are scheduled.

STRENGTHEN YOUR NBA RULES KNOWLEDGE |
Officials will be selected to work the 2024 PRO-AM National Championship Tournament based on their classroom performances and floor training. We teach only NBA rules and mechanics. The play level is high and very intense. You will be officiating adults that know how to play the game, and not AAU teams. Teams from all over the United States consist of top overseas, former top collegiate, and NBA players. The teams are playing for cash prizes, so the competition will be of high caliber. This is what makes this camp unique and different than any other camp that you have attended.
"We take your investment in your time and money seriously."
Our staff's goals are to maximize each Camper to be the best Basketball Official at whatever level they aspire to work. The camp is not for the "faint of heart", so acceptance of criticism is key. We give you the best tools to put you in a better position to get to the next level.
Some great officials who have come through our program include:
Monty McCutchen | Mike Callahan | Tom Washington | Marc Davis | James Capers |
Rodney Mott | Derrick Collins | Kane Fitzgerald | Dan Crawford | Matt Boland |
Leroy Richardson | Gary Zielinski | Derek Richardson | Tre Maddox | Haywoode Workman |
Brett Nansel | Daryl Humphrey | Kurt Walker | Lamont Simpson | Mike Price |
John Butler | Mousa Dagher | Danielle Scott | Pending.. | Pending.. |
The camp will be limited to 40 officials, so if you have intentions to attend please register early.
Officials are encouraged to share housing to save on costs. For those who have not attended our camp before, a list of the inexpensive hotel on and off the strip will be supplied by request.
Once you have registered, you will have access to The NBA rule and case books to download from our website.
There will be additional emails as time gets closer. Any questions please feel free to contact me.
We hope to see you all in Las Vegas!
Regards,
Tom Drakeford
